Technical Support I Overview:
Oso Grande Technologies, New Mexico ’s Premier Internet/Telecommunications Company has an excellent career opportunity within our Support group for a Technical Support I.
Responsibilities
- Taking inbound Technical Support calls from customers.
- Primary for internal desktop support. (Hardware/Software)
- Assist in application testing for new Oso Grande service offerings in order to be prepared for customer support.
- Receptionist backup responsibilities.
- Help e-mail responsibilities. (support queue)
- Setup, configuration and verification of connectivity, as well as diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve Dialup Networking issues.
- Setup, configuration and verification of Internet services for e-mail clients: Netscape Messenger, Mac Mail, Outlook Express, Eudora Pro/Lite, etc.
- Consist of assisting customers with general pricing information for all Oso Grande services.
- Perform on-call responsibilities in connection with afterhours support.
- Supported Operating Systems: Windows 98, NT, ME, 2000, XP Macintosh environments.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates should possess the following skills/background:
- Associate Degree in related field or equivalent work experience
- 2-3 yrs of help desk support in the following environments: PCs, Macintosh, DOS, Windows, Internet software products and desktop Support
- Strong working knowledge of data communications and network connectivity, including hardware support for modems and servers
- On-call emergency 24x7 support availability is also required

Network Engineer III Overview:
Oso Grande Technologies, New Mexico ’s Premier Internet/Telecommunications Company has an excellent career opportunity within our Network and Operations group for a Network Engineer III.
Responsibilities
- Architectural design and troubleshooting support of the core Data Network, which consist of Layer 1, 2 and 3 network components including Cisco routers, switches, fiber optic and telecommunications equipment.
- Coordinate with national service providers to resolve outages and initial activation of major Internet connectivity feeds.
- Manage and optimize access, backbone and customer circuit requirements and telco expenses including interconnect agreements, tariffs and terms.
- Provide network engineering/diagnostic support to internal/external customers during network test exercises, actual disaster recoveries and in support of production services.
- Assist in implementing internal/external customer's disaster recovery networks, including working with firewalls and redundant connections.
- Support the development of IP based products that are rolled out over the network.
- Provide support to sales staff in the engineering of new customer connectivity.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates should possess the following skills/background:
- An Engineering or Computer Science Degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Cisco CCIE, CNA, CCNP, CCIP, Juniper Network Certifications highly desirable.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in an Internet network management center or Central Office Environment.
Working knowledge in:
- activating, provisioning, and troubleshooting DWDM, SONET, OCx, T3, T1/Frac-T1, ATM and frame relay/IP networks;
- MPLS and Virtual Wide Area Networks;
- SONET and DCS (T1, T3), CSU/DSUs, DWDM, TDM's, fiber optics, routers, and switches is desirable;
- a variety of switch & router hardware, carrier services, network services, network management, network termination equipment and associated diagnostic equipment;
- TCP/IP protocol and services;
- Cisco IOS, Cisco ACLs and advanced routing protocols is required including BGP4, OSPF, and EIGRP;
- spanning tree and layer two switching concepts; and
- load balancing technologies, DNS and SMTP mail relay.
Strong customer service and communications skills (written and oral) are required.
