· How do I setup a dialup connection?

Please keep in mind there is a $.10 per minute access charge. There are many possible reasons for losing a dialup connection. Line noise - can be induced by poor weather conditions, check to make sure your line from the computer to the wall jack is not divided by a splitter - the shorter the phone cord, the better - finally, if you suspect line noise is an issue - have your phone company test your line. Modem issues - we may be able to 'tweak' your modem initialization string so that it better maintains your connection Modem driver - many modems are now using software loaded on your computer to operate - make sure that you are not putting too much load on your computer by running too many applications at once - reboot occasionally - clear any unneeded applications from your task list - also, we or your computer manufacturer may be able to assist you in locating the newest and best driver to install for your modem. Standard Pricing: * $1.50 per each additional hour "Modem on Hold" is a feature offered by V.92. Unfortunately, Oso Grande does not currently offer the V.92 standard. There is a setting in Windows that controls whether you want to disconnect after being idle for a certain time period. For Windows XP: For Win95/98/ME Outlook Express has an option to automatically disconnect immediately after checking your email. If you do not want this option turned on - click tools from the menu bar in Outlook Express - click options - click the Connection tab - uncheck the box labelled "Hang Up after sending and receiving."
